I am Abu Nagdee. This website showcases all the work and projects I carried out for my college course, Level 3 Creative Media Production.

Throughout this course, I learned and gained inside knowledge about how the media industry operates, critically analysing different target audiences for media products and understanding the different types of research practices which are common within the industry.

During 1st year, I produced, directed, and oversaw the production phase from start to finish as we created a TV advert for Spotify. The purpose of this campaign was to extensively promote Spotify's slogan of "any music, anywhere".

I had gained vast knowledge of using video editing software, working with live footage, that was filmed on-location in Manchester as well as grasping the art of adding special visual/audio FX onto the recorded footage.  Whilst composing such pieces of work, I learnt to adapt to the technical specifications required for video by applying techniques such as video transitions and aspect ratio/frame rate.

This portfolio also showcases the creation of 2D animations using Adobe Flash, the design of app logos for the iPhone as well as creating marketing campaigns using Adobe Photoshop. Other projects throughout first year involved the design and structure of 3D models using 3DS Max, and producing graphic narratives for print publications.

In 2nd Year, I was tasked with producing TV idents for Children's BBC, as the client brief revolved around the launch of a new channel aimed at pre-school children. Other modules included the composition of a special motion graphics themed TV title sequence for Sky Sports's Boxing coverage. This title sequence was edited and modified heavily using Adobe After Effects, which meant that throughout this two-year course I had fully immersed myself with the Adobe Creative Cloud software. Gaming has always been a passion of mine since childhood, so the chance to design and build a game level for a first-person shooter using the Unreal Games Engine was an enjoyable experience.  I also worked on 3DS Max again, this time creating a 3D Animation by techniques such as rendering of 3D objects, adding meshes and creating a frame-by-frame stop motion technique for the animation.

Overall throughout the two years, I was privileged to have worked alongside some of the most talented graphic designers, animators and camera operators of our age group (16-18).

As part of our course, we were highly advised to participate in extra-curricular activities, such as attending career fares where we would speak to industry specialists and have to opportunity to network with universities/companies, and also go on beneficial trips to the National Media Museum in Bradford & Whitworth Art Gallery in Manchester. (Photos of visits will be uploaded soon)
